Intelligence at the core. Built around people.
The stance
Intelligence at the core. Built around people.
For most organisations, hierarchy still sits at the centre. AI gets added at the edges: pilots, tools, productivity. I think that’s the wrong shape.
The shift is deeper. Intelligence becomes the core capability of the organisation, and people stay in command of it.
Meaning
Intelligence = the organisation’s ability to sense, decide, and act well
At the core = not a side project, not one tool, not one team
Built = designed on purpose, not adopted by accident
Around people = humans own what goes in, what comes out, and what gets acted on
Where it shows up
I teach this through executive education and tertiary work with Otago Business School. I’m also building the proof in real organisations moving intelligence to the core.
Mappa is one expression of this work: a human-owned intelligence layer for relationships.
What this is not
This is not AI tools training. Not generic AI literacy. Not digital transformation with new language. Not bolting AI onto the firm you already have.
